May 21, 2007 - 3 year string means the foundation only gives me 1 third up front of the 209,000 funding. This was great but I had budgeted the entire amount out for this year to expand my business NOW I have to wait for 3 years to get the funds. I talked to the director of operations and he is applying for more programs to help me get the entire amount.
SBF Small Business Funding Co Inc of Nevada got me 69,666 a third of the entire grant on a string program . The grant fell under a SEED OR NEW BUSIENSS OR EXPANSION GRANT. This information below is from there site.
Seed Money or Start-up Grants
A start-up grant helps a new organization or program in its first few years. The idea is to give the new effort a strong push forward, so it can devote its energy early on to setting up programs without worrying constantly about raising money. Such grants are often for more than one year, and frequently decrease in amount each year. For instance, a grant might be for $25,000 the first year, $15,000 the second year, and $7,000 the last year. The funder assumes that the new organization will begin to raise other funds to replace the decreasing start-up grant.
