March 22, 2009 - CASTELLO FALCONARA: Situated on the south coast of Sicily, at Licata, the 16-bedroom Castello Falconara has its own chapel, two private beaches and a huge panoramic terrace that overlooks the sea. Surrounded by palm groves and stuffed full of antiques, family heirlooms and hunting trophies, the castle is on four levels with the bottom floor leading to the garden and one of the private beaches via an internal staircase. The castle dates back to the 14th century, the oldest part being the large square tower, originally used to breed falcons for hawking.
