Richmond-Petersburg, VA (1888PressRelease) September 09, 2009 - Richmond, VA - Saxon Shoes will join forces with the National MS Society and their Women on the Move luncheon later this month at the Jefferson Hotel.

“Women and shoes are a match made in heaven, aren’t they?” asked Gary Weiner, president of Saxon Shoes, who worked with MS Society Board members to plan this year’s fundraising gala and fashion show. "This is an opportunity for Saxon Shoes to put its best foot forward and help a hard working group of people raise awareness and money to fight MS,” said Weiner.

Walk a Mile in My Shoes is the theme for this year’s MS Society’s Women on the Move luncheon on September 24th, which is a fundraising event that helps create awareness about Multiple Sclerosis. Both young men and women are impacted by MS, twice as many women are diagnosed with the disease, comparatively and women are also more likely to be the caregiver when a family member is living with the disease. The luncheon is an opportunity for women to have fun, see the latest in fashion footwear, network and raise money for MS research, programs and services. Keynote inspirational speaker Wendy Booker (www.wendybooker.net) a 54 year old woman suffering with MS will be on hand to share her story.

This year the MS Women on the Move will be moving in style with Saxon Shoes and over 20 volunteer models will be there to showcase the latest Fall fashions. Thanks to their generous sponsorship, it will be a gala event that will feature a shoe fashion show, with some familiar faces modeling Saxon’s finery. WTVR CBS 6 Richmond’s Stephanie Rachon, Reba Hollingsworth and Julie Bragg highlight the list the list of shoe models.
