November 20, 2007 - Pinellas Park,FL-Attorney Joseph H. Saunders, a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer, is accepting clients who have been injured by Davol’s Kugel Mesh hernia patch. Kugel Mesh hernia patches have been recalled due to a problem with the memory recoil ring. The ring that is supposed to hold the patch open is subject to failure or breakage which can cause internal injuries. If the ring fails internal organs or intestines can be punctured or damaged by movement of the patch or parts of the ring.
The hernia patch was initially recalled on December 27, 2005. On January 10, 2007, the FDA ordered Davol, the manufacturer of the Kugel Mesh patch, expanded its recall to include the specific lots of Bard® Composix® Kugel® Large Oval and Large Circle Mesh Patches for product codes 0010202 and 0010204. If you or a loved one have a Kugel Mesh hernia patch and have experienced abdominal pain that does not subsist, fever, or pain at the incision site, contact your doctor immediately.
