Sassy Ventures began at a tailgate party over a bowl of homemade chili. Matthew Tapping, the founder and president of Sassy Ventures, was tired of the bland, canned chili so often served, so he cooked up his own recipe and it became a hometown favorite! Backfield in motion is a football term that refers to the group of offensive players who line up behind the line of scrimmage.
The pride of Backfiled in Motion Chili is that it is cooked in small batches, with only the finest quality of ingredients. Fresh vegetables, tender marinated steak, sausage, and premium ground beef, and superior spices blend together into a bold, mouthwatering meal. The batches are never frozen, use no preservatives, and are gluten free. At a chili cook-off in Las Vegas, one supporter said, “I don’t like chili, but I love this.”
Sassy Ventures is a member of the International Chili Society, which hosts over 300 chili cook-offs annually to support charitable organizations such as the National Kidney Foundation, the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, the Boys and Girls Club of America, and more. A chili taster in Livonia, Michigan said, “"I have never tasted chili this good and will never buy another brand again."
Currently the company is working toward getting shelf space in retail grocers and encourages consumers to ask their local grocer to stock Backfield in Motion chili. Consumers can pre-order directly from Sassy Ventures online beginning August 1, 2009.
