SAS Education Strategist Joins Communities In Schools Of NC Board Of Directors

Caroline McCullen serves as Education Strategist for the SAS Education Practice


Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) March 20, 2007 - (Raleigh, NC) March 19, 2007 – Communities In Schools of North Carolina (CISNC) today announced the addition of Caroline McCullen of SAS as a new member of its Board of Directors. McCullen is the Education Strategist for the SAS Education Practice, a division of SAS, the leader in business intelligence.

Ms. McCullen is a former National Technology Teacher of the Year and has served as an Educator-on-Loan to the NC Department of Public Instruction where she collaborated with teachers across the state on a variety of instructional technology. In addition, Ms. McCullen was asked to serve on the 18 member National Technology Expert Panel created by the US Department of Education.

“We are honored that Caroline McCullen has agreed to join the Board of Directors for Communities In Schools of North Carolina,” said Linda Harrill, president of CISNC. “Ms. McCullen brings a depth of knowledge regarding technology and the classroom that will be vital as we begin developing the Performance Learning Centers (PLC) throughout our state. The SAS commitment to our students and to education continues to show great leadership in the technology and business fields.”

In addition to serving on the CISNC Board of Directors, Ms. McCullen serves on the Apex High School Academy of Information Technology and continues to work on various publications regarding education and technology.

The Board of Directors for Communities In Schools North Carolina provides direction in planning and policy decisions, oversees financial development, and monitors implementation of goals and objectives of the non-profit to help ensure best practices and results. Board members also serve as advocates and spokespersons for Communities In Schools objectives to the community at large.
