February 20, 2007 - San Diego, CA - February 16, 2007 -- San Diego Disc Jockey Laura Cain who co-hosts the Jeff & Jer Showgram on Star 94.1 shares the gift of sight. Cain brought her best friend James Dowd to Global Laser Vision and Dr. Farzad Yaghouti to have Custom Wavefront LASIK.
On January 12, 2007 Cain accompanied her best friend Dowd to Global Laser Vision to have his vision corrected. The experience was narrated by DJ Cain and videoed to be used on Global Laser Vision's website. By being able to view the procedure and understand each step of the process it gives potential patients confidence and assurance to undergo the procedure themselves. The LASIK procedure only takes minutes. After your eye has been completely numbed using "eye drop" anesthesia, an eyelid holder is placed between your eyelids to prevent you from blinking.
Next, an instrument known as a microkeratome makes a protective flap in the cornea. During this process you may feel a little pressure but no discomfort.
You will be asked to look directly at a target light while the laser reshapes the cornea, usually in less than a minute. Then, the protective flap is folded back in place where it bonds securely without the need for stitches. Before Dowd underwent LASIK correction his vision was 20/400. After Dr. Farzad Yaghouti performed the LASIK correction Dowd now has 20/15 vision; better that perfect! Just seconds after the procedure was completed Dowd was able to sit up and see everything clearly, like never before. Cain and Down both rejoiced with excitement at Dowd's new vision. The room was full of emotions as they hugged Dr. Yaghouti for the little miracle that Dowd had been given.
