February 24, 2009 - Muscat:To be held at the Salalah Municipality Fair Ground, Spring Fair will commence on February 24 and will run until March 24, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. until 12 midnight. Sundays and Wednesday are dedicated exclusively for ladies to visit the event; Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays are for families with Saturdays and Tuesdays open to the public at large.
Oman International Trade and Exhibitions (OITE), the country’s premier exhibitions and events company will organise the month long consumer and shopping exhibition in conjuntion with the Dhofar Municipality.
The Spring Fair highlights Oman’s rich heritage, diverse cultural activities, fabulous entertainment and provides the unlimited shopping experience. The event has received overwhemling response with 177 confirmed exhibitors this year, an increase from 120 exhibitors in 2008.
“The event is a meeting point for small, medium and large enterprises to penetrate and strengthen their position in the growing market amidst the global economic crisis. As the economy is witnessing a slowdown, businesses are now more aggressive in terms of promotions and offers. Spring Fair provides just the opportunity,” said Mr. Hassan Mohammed, Sr. Manager –Festivals from OITE.
“Spring Fair 2008 generated tremendous visitors. This year, various enterprises from UAE, India, Pakistan, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemen, Egypt, Thailand and Oman have confirmed their participation at Spring Fair 2009. It merely reflects that SMEs are more and more aggressive in penetrating the local market”, Hassan said.
Salalah is endowed with pleasant weather, misty environment and gushing springs, religious and historical sites, and thus is a major tourist destination.
