February 16, 2008 - Salad Creations, a national franchise offering a fresh alternative to fast-food for today’s healthy lifestyle, is pleased to announce the appointment of John M. King, a 30-year restaurant industry veteran, as its vice president of marketing.
At Salad Creations, King will manage the company’s marketing department while working closely with franchisees around the world. In addition, he will oversee Salad Creations’ media and creative agencies, assist with new product and promotion development, and direct brand management planning.
Prior to joining Salad Creations, King served as senior director of marketing for Perkins Restaurant and Bakery. In this role, he was responsible for the development and execution of Perkins’ national marketing plan for its more than 500 restaurants while managing field marketing and media buying throughout the country.

King was previously director of field marketing for Pizza Hut, Inc., where he helped achieve top line sales for more than 1,780 restaurants. He supervised 11 advertising agencies, managed an advertising budget of $36MM and handled the development and execution of marketing plans through five regional marketing managers. In addition, King has served as marketing manager for Gino’s, Inc. and metropolitan district sales manager for Kellogg’s Sales Company.
