June 24, 2008 - RALEIGH, NC - Sageworks announced today the release of its Private Sector Platform and Index, a database and information suite that tracks and diagnoses the health of companies in the private sector within North America. Private company data is compiled into an index with detailed reports on each industry. Overall private company market activity is also reported. The product was created to utilize the company’s database of private company data and to provide useful economic information on the private sector generally.
Through its ProfitCents™ software, Sageworks, Inc. compiles over a thousand private company financial data reports on a daily basis. The data is entered by finance professionals, and is added and updated daily. The information is then aggregated and measured against multiple financial metrics to create an index representative of the private sector. This data is also sectioned by industry to allow for more detailed analysis.
Centric to these reports is the Sageworks Industry Information database. One of its main features is to allow a company’s financials to be benchmarked against its peers by industry, size and location. The information can be sorted through filters, including region, sub-industry, and data source. Users can also customize indices to suit their needs.
