RTP Tech Event @ Goodnight’s Announces Holly Borowy, of BMI South, as Discussion Leader for October 9, 2008

Holly Borowy, Senior Vice President of Regional Metal Machining Company (SIC 34) will lead Regional Economic Forum on Innovation

(1888PressRelease) October 02, 2008 - Raleigh, NC. Holly Borowy, the Senior Vice President of BMI South a regional metal machining company located in Raleigh, N. C. will lead the discussion on innovation economics at the October 9, 2008 RTP Tech Event @ Goodnight’s.

Borowy has 30 years of professional experience in the metal machining industry and is Six Sigma Blackbelt certified.

“Holly was one of the first executives in the RTP manufacturing community to offer her support the RTP Tech Event,” said Tom Vass, the organizer of the event. “She said she understood the importance of regional collaboration to promote technology innovation,” he added.

“I know that we can find ways to make the regional economy better,” said Borowy. “We are in tough economic times for small manufacturers and technology innovation and finding ways of doing more business with each other are two things we can do to improve business conditions.”

The RTP Tech Event is a regional economic innovation collaboration network of companies from the manufacturing community in the RTP regional economy. Each month, local executives from two different industrial sectors present their thoughts on technology, innovation and new product development from their own industry, in an effort to stimulate ideas for technology crossover between local manufacturing sectors.

The success of the event is evident by increased business transactions already achieved in the past two months. At the September 25, 2008, event George King, President of Triangle MicroSystems, one of the presenters, described how he had found a new business partner as a result of networking at the RTP Product Development Guild Street Faire, an affiliated business network event.

At the end of each session, the floor is open for a budding entrepreneur or inventor to stand up and give a five minute elevator pitch on their venture. “We call this opportunity “Your Five Minutes of Fame at Goodnight’s,” said Vass.

The event is held each month at Goodnight’s Comedy Club on Morgan St. in Raleigh. Registration for the monthly event is available at MeetUp.com. Annual membership in the RTP Tech Event is $50, and there is a $10 door fee that includes the purchase of the first drink and a discount on the comedy show that night at Goodnight’s.
