RTP Tech Event @ Goodnight’s Announces George King To Lead Regional Economic Forum on Instruments and Control Manufacturing (SIC 38) on September 25, 2008

George King, President of Triangle Microsystems, Inc., a manufacturer of environmental building control systems and fuel pump instrumentation equipment will lead discussion about trends in technology, markets and capital to fuel growth in North Carolina manufacturing firms.

(1888PressRelease) September 04, 2008 - Raleigh, N. C. George King, an industry professional with 30 years of experience in instrumentation and control manufacturing will lead the discussion at the September 25 RTP Tech Event @ Goodnight’s.

King’s company has been in business since 1979, and has been on the leading edge of new product innovation in building environmental controls and fuel pump instrumentation. The company recently completed a multi-million dollar installation in the United Kingdom with advanced technology control products developed in the Raleigh production facility.

“We know first hand the issues confronting companies engaged in innovation,” said King. “Our last search for capital took us all over the nation and we finally found bankers and capital in Tennessee that understood our technology and our business. I am looking forward to participating in a community discussion on how we can make our regional business community more supportive of small manufacturing companies like ours.”

The RTP Tech Event @ Goodnight’s is a community economic forum of executives and entrepreneurs from manufacturing and technology companies who meet once a month to brainstorm ideas on new products, developing new markets, and discussing ways to do more business with each other in the regional economy.

“Companies like Triangle MicroSystems form the innovation platform of small manufacturing firms in our economy,” said Tom Vass, the President of The Private Capital Market, Inc., and a regional innovation economist. “Our forum is designed to allow cross technology collaboration between industry professionals like George King, and other executives who may hear a great idea during his discussion.”

Each monthly networking session features presentations from two different local companies in 2 industrial sectors. The September 25 event features SIC 38, (instruments and controls) and SIC 36 (electrical equipment manufacturing).

At the end of the local company presentations, an executive from a global manufacturing company provides feedback on how their company is attempting to solve the same set of issues. The panel discussion by the larger manufacturers adds a different dimension to the collaboration between regional and global manufacturers on issues related to global trends in technology and markets.

At the August 28, 2008, Tech Event, Jay Singh, the Manager of Engineering for Siemens Power and Transmission, described how their company searches their extended global value chain for new ideas on product innovation.

At the end of the panel discussion, the floor is open for a budding entrepreneur or inventor to stand up and give a five minute elevator pitch on their venture.

Registration for the monthly event is available at MeetUp.com. Annual membership in the RTP Tech Event is $50, and there is a $10 door fee that includes the purchase of the first drink and a discount on the comedy show that night at Goodnight’s.
