RTP Angel Capital Exchange Selects Two Duke University Related Companies for May 20 Presentation

CPS Biofuels and 3rd Rock Sunblock Represent Trend in Rapid New Product Technology Innovation.

(1888PressRelease) May 06, 2009 - Cary, N. C. Two companies with new technology products have been selected to present at the May 20, 2009, RTP Angel Capital Exchange, at the BNC Center in Cary, N. C.

“The trend in technological innovation in central North Carolina is toward products that are on a rapid pathway to commercial market success,” said Tom Vass, the organizer of the angel event.

Both companies, CPS Biofuels and 3rd Rock Sunblock, address shortcomings in the existing marketplace by application of scientific research conducted in collaboration with Duke University. Both products followed a relatively short path from initial research efforts to achieving market commercialization readiness.

CPS is focused on the development of proprietary processes to optimize biofuel additive alternatives. The core business is focused on improving efficiency of all fuels including biofuels, ethanol, and diesel for direct use within the existing transportation infrastructure.

The company was founded by David Bradin, Guerry Grune, and Marty Trivette, all scientists and engineers with professional experience in research, development and product innovation.

3rd Rock Sunblock, Inc. is a developer and distributor of a revolutionary patented sunblock that yields superior UV protection from the sun and contains beneficial, healthy, immune boosting ingredients for the skin. The new product contains cytoprotective ingredients that maintain and boost the immune system as well as retard development of pre-cancerous lesions.

The RTP Angel Capital Exchange is an open business network that provides both existing companies and new ventures a platform for describing their growth plans. The Angel Capital Exchange is one part of 3 other business networks in the RTP that work together to increase the rate of technology innovation and deal flow in the regional economy.

The monthly event is held at the BNC Center in Cary, and begins at 5:00 PM on May 20, 2009. There is a $10 fee at the door to attend. Pre-registration is available at MeetUp.com. http://newtech.meetup.com/115/calendar/
