Rosalia Tignini Verdun about her artworks
I love to paint portraits because the portrait of a human being can be a testimony of love, a statement of power and a representation of history for generations to come. As an artist, I feel we are the most beautiful creatures in the world and enjoy creating works derived from the individual. The figure is a demonstration of humanity and my paintings of figures express my views on humanity.
Landscapes are the atmosphere we live within. Whether I paint a forest, a small yard, or a city, my goal is to create a common atmosphere for all to relate.
Painting objects in still life began with the old masters lacking human models. Using every day objects from the most plain to the complex, my goal is to accentuate light, dark and color. Drawings are the backbone of all painting and vital to art. I try to demonstrate as much of the concept as possible in my drawings. I try to be as creative as possible in all aspects of life. From fashion, to interior décor, to a good meal from scratch, I like to surround and expose my imagination to new influences for my next work of art!
