About the Authors
Author Michael Hickey has been a teacher at The Stony Brook School for over 22 years. After graduating from the United States Merchant Marines with a B.S. in engineering Michael worked on oil tankers as an engineer for Exxon and served as a missionary for two years on the evangelistic mission ship MV Doulos. Currently teaching AP Biology and Physics at The Stony Brook School, he also works as the SAT tutor for the school giving him the opportunity to tutor hundreds of students for SAT’s over the years.
Author Thom Brownorth is entering his 41st year at The Stony Brook School. His recent position as Senior Master is just one of the prestigious positions he has held while at Stony Brook. He has also served as Chair of the Mathematics Department and Director of Computer Services. After graduating from Houghton College with his undergraduate degree and attaining his Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education from Hofstra University Thom went on to study educational systems in Europe. The author has also spends time on educational based missions to the Philippines, Haiti and Latvia.
