June 13, 2008 - Lauri's new album was recorded in Paris and New York City and is a reflection of the riches that those very different cultures have to offer, with its blends of musical styles.
The title track from the "Liberté" album, written and performed by Robert Lauri, gives the public an opportunity to enjoy a taster of the new release. The single comes out htis month, in June. The song features a musical blend and synergy of pop and rap. The harmonious arrangements are accompanied by French and English lyrics, giving "Liberté" an international and contemporary feel.
The French lyrics were written by Robert Lauri and Claudine Marousek-Dornhakl. The English version was produced by Vivien Goldman, a well-known music journalist, who has also written a biography about Bob Marley. The English voice belongs to Laura Carbonell Smith. The rap section was written and performed by Robert Lauri's son, JNB. The whole "liberté project has been put together by Alain Pype, a renowned French sound engineer, in conjunction with Robert Lauri.
Robert Lauri has been a writer, composer and performer since he was very young. His career in music, stretching back over thirty years, is studded with a number of hits, as well as the international success he has enjoyed in the United States and Europe with the band Alef.
