July 03, 2009 - Eagle Gate College, a leader in career education in Utah announces its Summer 2009 graduating class. Ninety-five graduates will be awarded Diploma, Associate and Bachelor’s degrees at a commencement ceremony on Friday, June 26th. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Murray High School in Murray, Utah.
Robert H. Garff will give the commencement address. Janet Head, Campus President, will confer the degrees.
“For Eagle Gate College graduates, the commencement ceremony is the culmination of the students’ hard work and dedication to improve their lives,” President Head said. “We are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of each graduate on this special day.”
Robert H. Garff is Chairman of Garff Enterprises, Inc., a Salt Lake City corporation founded in 1932. The real estate holding company and parent company for the Ken Garff Automotive Group, represents 46 new car franchises at 19 Utah locations, three used car stores and six collision centers from Ogden to St. George and 10 out-of-state locations.
The company employs approximately 2,200 employees and generates over $600 million in sales annually. Mr. Garff’s accomplishments span sports, education, business and local government. He has served as Chairman of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winters Games, Trustee for the University of Utah, Board Member of the Utah Commission on Volunteers, Chairman of the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Deseret Book Company, Director of Intermountain Healthcare, and Board Member of the Coalition for Utah’s Future.
Mr. Garff has held various community, business and religious leadership positions during his career, including Speaker of the House of Representatives for the State of Utah. He is married to the former Katharine Bagley and together they have five children and nineteen grandchildren.
