August 26, 2008 - Ridgeview Valley, Deep Creek Lake’s newest lifestyle community recently completed construction of its open-air amphitheater. Ridgeview Valley is located at the end of Gravelly Run Road, entered about ½ mile north of the Rt. 219 Bridge that crosses Deep Creek Lake in McHenry, MD. The new amphitheater is terraced into the hillside facing the entrance of the original “Harvey” barn with the entrance of the barn forming the stage for live performances. Well over 100 years old, the barn once used to store hay for the animals raised on the farm has been completely restored and can hold up to 300 people. Planning of concerts and various performances are in the works. The first event is a kick off concert on September 27, 2008 featuring Wolf Creek Session. The event is for the benefit of Cindy’s Fund, a local breast cancer awareness foundation. Wolf Creek Session is an acoustical blend of Appalachian and Celtic music.
While enjoying the entertainment in the distance, you can warm up by the nearby fire pit or take a moonlit stroll along the meandering trails. The sense of tranquility that you will find in Ridgeview Valley will make you feel like you are already home.
