January 09, 2009 - As part of the promotion of the sector led by French competitiveness clusters Sporaltec and CIM (which are focused on sports, leisure, mountain and outdoor equipment), 23 companies will exhibit under the banner of The French Alps in an exhibition space covering 700m2. At booth B5 333J, a film about all the exhibitors from the Rhône-Alpes region will be shown. The film is also available on www.cluster-cim.fr.
At this key gathering for the sports industry, the sector's professionals will discover the expertise of the world’s leading winter-sports destination. The region of Rhône-Alpes has 185 ski resorts and issued 40 million day ski passes in the 2007-2008 season. Around 40% of its visitors come from outside France in order to enjoy the facilities of world-renowned resorts such as Les 3 Vallées, Paradiski, Espace Killy and les Portes du Soleil.
Visitors to the Rhône-Alpes stands at the IPSO WINTER 2009 trade show will be able to view a range of state-of-the-art products, including those of the two winners of the event’s Brandnew Award: the Sailing for Woman collection, made by Morpho, and innovative walking shoes that can also be used for skiing, from Alp’Control.
A wide range of companies from Rhône Alpes will be exhibiting at the event. Manufacturers of skis, snowboards and skates include Alp’Innov, a biboard manufacturer and distributor (B5.333J); Apo Skis & Snowboards, a manufacturer of skis and snowboards (A4.112); Bohême, a designer of handmade skis and snowboards (B5.333G); Magic Potion, a manufacturer of ecological gliding products (B5.333E); Ski Lacroix France, a designer of luxury skis (A4.322); U-KAN, a maker of in-line skates(C2.200A); Dupraz Snowboard, a snowboard manufacturer (B5-333K); and Zag Skis, a freeride ski manufacturer (B5.333F).
There will also be companies specialising in footwear, including: Andréa Boldrini, a designer of climbing shoes (A1.334); Inook, a specialist in snowshoes (B5.333); Salac-Kimberfeel, a maker of après-ski shoes (B5.337); Sidas – Conform’able, a specialist in innovative footwear technology (B3.101); and TSL Outdoor, a manufacturer of French-made snowshoes and outdoor equipment (B5.134).
Companies that make clothing and accessories for winter-sports enthusiasts include Amateis, a designer of outdoor clothing and footwear (A5.243B); Morpho, a manufacturer of snowshoes and outdoor clothing (B5.333I); Chaud Devant, a specialist in winter-sport accessories (A1.329); and Eurosports Diffusion, a designer of hosiery and gloves (A3.417).
Providers of other equipment for use in winter sports include Alp’Control, a specialist in ski/mountaineering equipment (B5.333B); Guidetti, a manufacturer of telescopic and outdoor poles (B5.333D); Hotz/Sogema, a maker of ski goggles and sunglasses (B5.130B); Koralp, a designer of ski-related equipment storage systems (B5.130A); and U-BAK, a manufacturer of avalanche lifejackets and other safety products (B5.333A).
Finally, La Haute Société offers communication and consulting services (B5.333C).
The Rhône-Alpes Region, UBIFRANCE, the French agency for international business development, and Les 3 Vallées have provided their support to the CIM and Sporaltec clusters in mounting this event.
