Results Of “Most Bizzare Interview Questions” – Competition Held By Digital Video Interview Services At EREC 2006

The conference attracted over 3000 executives as well as employers and recruiters interested in finding out more about advertising in this niche market.

(1888PressRelease) July 19, 2006 - EREC, the first UK exhibition conference to be focused exclusively on executive recruitment and was sponsored by The Sunday Times and executive recruitment website, executivesontheweb.com. The conference attracted over 3000 executives as well as employers and recruiters interested in finding out more about advertising in this niche market.

Catriona Ryan, Managing Director of DVI “thought her competition would give executives visiting the exhibition a chance to have some fun during their visit.” Not only did DVI run the competition, they went one step further by providing a mock video interview studio giving candidates the chance to interview a recruiter using questions entered in the competition.

Answers to the competition entered varied from very personal questions such as; How many times have you been in love?, Have you ever danced naked?, How much does your partner earn?, to the very ‘bizarre’; If you were a Winnie The Pooh character what would you be?, Do you know how many free porn channels there are on satellite TV?, If you had to go on a plane would you choose an aisle or window seat?.

As the job market intensifies, recruiters and employers are being pushed to find the ‘right candidate’ for the ‘right job’ quicker, thus in turn they are becoming more creative in their interview process. No longer is it enough to just ask the standard questions, what are your strengths and weaknesses? What has been your greatest career achievement to date?

The winners of the question voted the ‘most bizarre’ each day were Chris Jones and Mark Spillman who have won a FREE DVI Silver Package worth £399 along with an IPOD and Portable DVD Player respectively. The DVI prize involves an interview session, a personalised DVI web page to use to promote themselves to prospective employers and a copy of their Digital Video Interview on DVD.

“DVI offers a unique interviewing service to candidates and gives them a chance to make a great first impression. Video interviews are becoming the new hidden weapon for job seekers, allowing them to stand out from the crowd” says Catriona Ryan.
