Restaurant Competition Judges Announced for 2009 A Toast to the Triangle

Tammy Lynn Memorial Foundation Event Hosts Friendly Restaurant Competition.


Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) January 10, 2009 - Mary Freeman, president and CEO of the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, has announced the restaurant competition judges for 24th annual A Toast to the Triangle™. The fundraising event, which offers guests samples from more than 40 of the area’s finest restaurants, caterers and purveyors of fine wines and specialty beers, features a friendly competition among the participating restaurants. Six awards are given each year: People’s Choice Award, Best Visual Theme, Best First Course, Best Entrée, Best Dessert and Best Presentation.

All restaurant participants are eligible for the People's Choice Award, in which guests vote for their favorite restaurant. The remaining awards are voted on by judges from organizations across the Triangle and Southeast, including:

• Southern Living Magazine
• International Gourmet Foods
• Mutual Distributing
• Nina’s Ristorante
• Poppyseed Market
• RDU Marketing
• A Baker’s Dozen
• Turner Wine Imports
• Zely & Ritz

An, Cafe Parizade, Cattails, La Farm Bakery and Catering Works received competition awards at the 2008 Toast.

The Toast raises funds for the Tammy Lynn Memorial Foundation, Inc., which in turn supports programs and services of the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities. The Center provides educational, residential and family support services for children and adults with special needs.

The 2009 Toast will be held on March 8, 2009 at the North Carolina State University McKimmon Center in Raleigh. Last year, more than 1,200 guests were in attendance, helping raise $212,000.
