April 25, 2007 - A new graphic novel seeks to reveal key concerns people have today regarding the use of mobile devices.
As society begins to understand the good, bad and very ugly side of mobile phones - dangerous social behaviour; serious device-related health risksl various schemes sprung upon us by unscrupulous people operating in the telecoms market - it has become increasingly important folks are aware of how these dangers affect them.
Based on an extensive analysis of online UK individuals, the following list highlights the growing fears people have related to the use of wireless technology.
1. Mobile Abuse on youths including exposure to inappropriate content and potential paedophilia attacks
2. Physical Health Dangers from mobile usage such as exposure to wireless smog and phone masts
3. Violent Crime including mobile theft, filming assaults or extortion for bank account details
4. Mobile Bullying such as aggressive or intimidating messages sent from peers in the school yard
5. Terrorist Acts including bomb detonation and even loud or threatening conversations on packed trains
6. Operator Scams including opt-in subscriptions and corrupt TV call-in and voting competitions
7. Intrusive Marketing (mobile spam) for gaming, pornography or offensive content sent via SMS or Bluetooth
8. Accidents incurred while using mobile device such as driving or even walking down the street
9. Privacy Invading “Big Brother” - like tools such as GPS systems to track individual’s whereabouts
10. Messaging Hoaxes including prank faux terror threats or health scares via SMS
