For 2008, Honda has made its Accord more chiseled in terms of external appearance while retaining the same body size; available in two types, the sedan and coupe, this midsize vehicle generates 170 hp from its 2.4-liter, four-cylinder and 260 hp from its 3.2-liter, six-cylinder engine. This is an upgrade from its earlier 3.0 engine.
While the four-cylinder delivers a torque of 170 lb-ft, the six-cylinder has 230 lb ft. The engines are also available in different transmissions –five-speed manual and five-speed automatic on the four-cylinder, and six-speed manual and six-speed automatic on the six-cylinder. An innovative feature of the V6 engine is that in order to cut gas consumption, this vehicle is programmed to automatically shut off three of its cylinders when they are not needed while driving.
