  • (1888PressRelease) July 17, 2012 - RenewData, a full-service eDiscovery provider that offers the industry's broadest spectrum of review acceleration solutions, announced that it is kicking off a series of roadshows for the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) and its members. Titled "Understanding the Predictive Coding Blind Spot," the roadshows will address the intricacies and challenges of using artificial intelligence to conduct eDiscovery reviews.

The roadshow is scheduled to begin in Birmingham, Ala., on July 17 with scheduled stops in Atlanta (July 18), Dallas (Aug. 7), Austin (Aug. 8) and Houston (Aug. 14).

With data volumes increasing dramatically, technology has become the ideal tool to help organizations quickly and cost effectively analyze and interpret document collections. However, despite the clear benefits, many technology assisted review offerings have a hidden secret because they rely solely on artificial intelligence (as opposed to language-based reviews). Failing to address this "blind spot" can lead to under-inclusive results and potential risk or over-inclusive results and added time and cost.

Speakers Joe Garber, vice president of analytics marketing, and Hope Swancy-Haslam, J.D., director of analytics market development at RenewData, will address:

    - How to break down the various forms of technology assisted review.
    - The pros and cons of each broad category within this segment of the market.
    - How to choose the right tool for each matter.
    - How most organizations train artificial intelligence-based engines.
    - Best practices for building better, more complete training sets.
    - Alternative processes for addressing this "blind spot."

This educational session will balance business and technical issues, so it is equally appropriate for senior-level and litigation support staff. You do not have to be an ILTA member to attend.
