October 13, 2007 - (Miami, FL) - Über-condo development Regalia of Sunny Isles, Florida has announced today that they will be a title sponsor of the world-renowned Solomon R. Guggenheim Gala to take place Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Pier 40 in New York City.
As one of the most coveted events in New York, reaching a highly select international group of affluent and stylish guests, The Guggenheim Gala is the perfect match for this one of a kind collection of “mansions in the sky”. Referred by the New York Times as the “top fund-raising gala” of 2006, last year’s event was co-chaired by Victoria and Dennis Hopper and featured remarks by special guest Mayor Michael Bloomberg and catering by celebrity chef Nobu. Guests can expect to participate in one of the most exciting events of the year with 2007’s honorees including Frank Gehry, co-chairs such as Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, and Jacqueline and Mortimer Sackler, production design by artist of the moment David E. Monn, auctioneering by Simon de Pury, and catering by Le Cirque.
The Regalia team has always viewed their one unit-per floor residence on the beach as “living art instillation”, and have infused various components of the art world into every stage of the project’s design. From the outside, the architecture of building itself takes on an imaginative form. Designed by Fort Brescia of Arquitectonica, the organic curved silhouette of the 43-story tower appears to have been shaped by the waves, wind and sand that surround the property. On the tactile level, Regalia commissioned legendary sculpture Dale Chihuly to create his signature large-scale glass pieces to be placed in the impressive double-height lobby. Furnishings will be provided by Poltrona Frau, who were recently acknowledged at the famed Stockholm Furniture Fair, and whose mission statement is to “never lose sight of the cultural and aesthetic gravitational point gained with experience.”
Even Regalia’s marketing outreach has incorporated an artistic flair. When the developers presented the project at this year’s Monaco Grand Prix, they approached the innovative TM sisters, whose work was showcased at the Moscow Biennale and profiled in the New York Times, to create a miniature car to be given to VIP’s of the event. When the TM sisters were recently named one of ARTNEWS’ 25 trendsetters, the “Around the World in 14 Days” Regalia car soon became a collector’s item.
Following their strategy, Regalia will be working with artist Douglas Gordon to create a unique item for the Gala’s much-anticipated gift bags, which will be produced by specialist Tim Ronan. Regalia’s international outreach and attention to artistic detail makes for a natural fit at one of the most internationally acclaimed art celebrations of the year.
