This release is to inform readers that Refrigerated Food Express recently nominated one of their Owner Operators for the Driver of the Year Award by the National Association of Small Trucking Companies.
Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) October 22, 2012 - Each year the National Association of Small Trucking Companies (NASTC) asks companies across the United States to pick their best truck driver to be nominated for NASTC's prestigious Driver of the Year Award. Finalists and a guest of their choice are invited to attend the yearly conference in Nashville. These drivers are showered with gifts and praise to commemorate the nominations and are also honored at the Driver of the Year ceremony banquet.
Refrigerated Food Express has nominated one of their longest-standing owner operators, Craig Mattatall, better known as "Rocky," who has been contracted with the company since 1980. Mattatall boasts an impressive safe driving career, having been accident-free since his career began 35 years ago. In fact, he has received American Trucking Association's annual safe driving award since its inception in 1986.
Refrigerated Food Express detailed Rocky's commitment to the company in their nomination letter for him stating, "Rocky always goes the extra mile when needed by Refrigerated Food Express." For example, one time there was a terminal that was short-staffed due to a manager being out on vacation. Even though there was coverage, Rocky realized that more help was needed to accomplish the task at hand. He stayed late into the night and even used his own off time to make sure that all of the trucks were loaded and on their way before he headed for home, showcasing his dedication to the company and his fellow owner operators.
Mattatall was also nominated because of his high level of respect for everyone he comes into contact with, including both his peers and his customers. He remains professional yet approachable at all times and has a deep understanding of over-the-road truck driving. Always willing to go the extra mile, Rocky is keen to share his experiences and stories in order to pass along his vast knowledge of the road. Refrigerated Food Express knows they are lucky to have Rocky and believes that he deserves NASTC's recognition in choosing him to be a finalist for the Driver of the Year Award. Everybody has their fingers crossed that he wins it all, and is able to bring home that prestigious award.
