July 02, 2009 - The new software offers Multi-Level Floor Plans allowing users to view a specific, room, floor, facility or the entire global organization. One can see different departments or sites that are being monitored through the Centron EMS by looking at just one screen. This is done through the new Tree View Control System, which displays a hierarchy of nodes to users. This layout allows the necessary overview needed to maintain larger scale systems by letting users click directly to any node, any department or any map on the Tree View Control System. Users now have the ability to see Real time alarms wherever they occur within the organization.
This new software makes the Departmental Reviews and Approval process much quicker and easier. Previously, only supervisory permissions allowed the review and approval of all inputs. Now with the new software, organizations can delegate this responsibility to each department. Making changes to Security Codes or Telephone programming is also substantially faster. Before, the software required that all Nodes be open when making changes to Security Codes or Telephone programming. This often caused an issue when a Supervisor did not have access to nodes in other departments or buildings and could not perform the changes. The new software will allow Supervisors to make these changes to only their Node or Nodes without needing access to other Nodes on the system.
“Many of the new features are a direct result of input from our users. I specifically like the new Map view that allows users to import a JPEG photograph of their building, or a satellite view of their campus. In a few instances we have used satellite maps to show client sites located around the world, which is the ultimate in system overview.
