Nashville, TN (1888PressRelease)
August 16, 2007 - This Saturday at midnight, Nashville-based alternative rockers The Redding Brothers will release their newest single, title unknown as yet, to their fans at ReddingBrothers.com. This is part of a new program the band has started to encourage their creativity.
The band — a trio of brothers originally from Charleston, WV, but more recently hailing from their new headquarters in Nashville, TN — produces an alternative rock sound similar to acts like Barenaked Ladies, Dave Matthews Band, and Matchbox Twenty. But according to fans, they still have "something all their own".
For the group's new "Song-a-Week" program, one or all of the band members will write a new song during the week, and then record it in their home studio and set it for a timed release on the band's official website. The weekly song releases are also available in the form of a podcast, which visitors can subscribe to with podcast readers such as Apple iTunes, iGoogle, My Yahoo, etc.
The new program was started because the brothers felt they were getting "too bogged down" with the business side of operating their band, and wanted to set a goal for themselves on the more creative side.
"There are a lot of things you have to be thinking about all the time when you're in a band, especially one like ours that is on the road performing all the time," said Micah, lead singer and guitarist for the group. "One day we realized we'd stopped writing the way we used to, so we came up with the podcast as a way of setting a goal for ourselves and keeping ourselves accountable to the fans."
Listeners who would like to listen to the weekly songs may stream them live on the band's official website, download the tracks for free, and also subscribe to the podcast RSS feed.
