Springfield, OH (1888PressRelease)
March 09, 2008 - Sunset Records, a newly founded independent record label is taking a refreshingly unique approach to promoting various artists from around the world. Whether you’re into Acoustic, Alternative, Classic Rock, Country, Easy Listening, Folk, Pop, or even Punk, owner Troy Cromwell assures all music lovers that his label will have something for everyone.
“My vision to compile an all-girl or female fronted musical recording that would benefit Project Woman of Ohio came about late last year; I’ve always been an avid fan of bands like Blondie, Heart, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. The sound of a woman’s voice compliments an arrangement like nothing else can.” The impressive twenty-one song compilation surely boasts both, beautifully inspiring arrangements and complimenting vocals, guaranteed to gratify even the most distinguished listener. “I knew I wanted to give something back to my community”. Troy goes on to say that “the number of women and children who are suffering from the hands of abuse is staggering” and he felt compelled to bring awareness to the people. “Sunset Records want to support Project Woman of Ohio and their mission to end domestic violence, rape, and sexual assault”.
Shortly after coordinating a small number of local musicians the project took a huge leap and went worldwide. “The overwhelming response I was getting from other artists was so positive, and that was very encouraging”. Within a few short weeks Sunset Records had bands from as far away as London, Australia, and even New Zealand wanting to be a part of the compilation. “I am very excited and extremely grateful to all of the artists that have been so kind to join together in our quest to make Project Woman something very, very special”. The beautiful cover art that adorns the CD was donated by an 18 year old female artist from Sophia, Bulgaria. Her painting titled “Queen of Love” captures what’s waiting inside for the listener, promising - you can judge this CD by its cover.
March 8th will mark the release of Project Woman. “We picked this release date to celebrate International Women’s Day”, a national holiday. “Women on all continents often divided by national boundaries and by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, come together so they can look back to a tradition that represents at least nine decades of struggle for equality, justice, peace and development”.
Future plans include adding in house small run duplication/replication services, and the possibility of collaborating with a local recording studio. “We’d like to someday be able to offer the total package to the artists we sign, everything from video production and sound recording to manufacturing retail ready discs and promotions”. Sunset Records are actively seeking interested musicians for up and coming projects. All of which would benefit deserving organizations across the globe.
