January 29, 2008 - David Fritz, five year member of the Optimist Club and Buyer Specialist with Lee & Pamela St. Peter at Prudential Carolinas Realty, has been named president of the Raleigh Optimist Club affiliated with Optimist International. As President, David will manage activities while leading board meetings to most effectively utilize resources for the benefit of the community, and will work to develop awareness of the organization to gain community support. The Optimist Club is a nonprofit organization whose motto appropriately sums up their purpose “Friend of Youth”; working to create a more optimistic future for young individuals through innovative programs.
Sponsoring and supporting a number of service-based activities, the local Optimist Club hosts events such as “Youth Appreciation Week”, where scholarships for area high school seniors are awarded, and “Mile of Hope”, a weekend beach trip for youth cancer patients and their families.
