Real Estate Attorney Caroline Achey Edwards Earns Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Professional Accreditation

Bucks County-based Lawyer one of Only 30 Legal Professionals in PA to Earn LEED Accreditation.

Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) September 15, 2009 - Real estate attorney Caroline Achey Edwards has earned a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Professional Accreditation. This accreditation indicates that Edwards has demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Green Building Rating System™.

Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and administered by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), LEED Professional Accreditation designates building professionals with the requisite knowledge and skill base to successfully steward the LEED Certification process. According to the USGBC, The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.

“As a lawyer who focuses exclusively on real estate law and real estate matters, I am proud to have earned LEED Professional Accreditation,” said Edwards. “Green building practices are crucial to the long-term health and viability of our global community. It is exciting to participate in projects that recognize the benefits of sustainability.”

The principal of her own Bucks County law office, Edwards has been providing real estate and related legal services to a diverse group of clients including real estate developers, businesses, banks, religious organizations and individuals, for more than 20 years. Edwards’ law firm handles a wide variety of matters, ranging from subdivision, land development and zoning approvals to the formation of condominiums and planned communities to the preparation and negotiation of commercial lease agreements and real estate sales and purchases.

Launched in 1993, LEED is a third-party certification program that recognizes sustainable performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. To become a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP), practitioners must pass a rigorous examination. The GBCI Web site indicates that Edwards is one of only 30 legal professionals in Pennsylvania to have done so.

The Law Office of Caroline Achey Edwards represents and counsels clients with an emphasis on providing quality legal services, rendered with integrity and efficiency. Established in 1993, Edwards’ law firm serves clients throughout southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Caroline Achey Edwards is a native of Bethlehem, Pa., and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Bucks County bar associations and the Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce.
