Piper Cancer Center (VGPCC) Clinical Trials Program at Scottsdale Healthcare Senior Investigator and Deputy Director of Translational Research Division at TGen will give a Featured Presentation at the Next Generation Sequencing Conference on June 19-20, 2014 in San Diego, CA by GTC.

    Dr. Ramesh K. Ramanathan serves as a Principle Investigator of the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center Clinical Trials at Scottsdale Healthcare, Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. Ramanathan joined the Clinical Trials department in spring 2007. In addition to his role as Medical Director, he holds appointments as Clinical Professor at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGEN) and the College of Medicine, Phoenix campus of the University of Arizona. Prior to this appointment, he served as Associate Professor and Director of the Gastrointestinal Oncology Program at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute from 1996-2007.

    Dr. Ramanathan's research interests are in new drug development, and he specializes in the treatment of GI cancers. Over the last 15 years, Dr. Ramanathan has been involved in the development of a number of new drugs and treatments for colon, pancreatic and GI cancers. Dr. Ramanathan has authored or coauthored more than 180 abstracts, 120 manuscripts and book chapters. He also serves as GI committee member for SWOG, and is an Editorial Board member for Clinical Cancer Research, Cancer Chemotherapy and Pharmacology, Gastrointestinal Cancer Research and is an ad hoc reviewer for a number of other journals.
