July 08, 2008 - On July 21st and 22nd, 2008 The Ram Restaurant & Brewery in conjunction with District 21 Community Partnerships will be hosting a canned food drive to benefit local food depositories. With the completion of the recent school year children of less fortunate families will no longer be receiving their regular two meals a day provided by the school lunch program. This is putting an even greater strain on local food banks.
The Ram in Wheeling is taking a positive step to become involved with the community and will be offering a discount for families who are willing to donate to this ever worsening cause. Any family that donates one non-perishable food item will receive 10% off of their entire food purchase and families who donate two or more non-perishable food items will receive 20% off their food purchases.
With incentives such as these District 21 and The Ram are looking to generate enough non-perishable food items to help replenish the food depositories supply and create a positive example for other local businesses.
