Raleigh Artist Donates Painting To Benefit Aids

Suzy Andron Donates to Works of Heart

(1888PressRelease) October 10, 2007 - Raleigh, NC: Raleigh artist, Suzy Andron, announced today that she has donated one of her mixed media and acrylic paintings to the 17th Annual Works of Heart charity auction, the Triangle’s art auction against AIDS. Andron donated her 32-inch by 27-inch painting, Dazzle, which is three-canvas polytych.

Works of Heart is the region’s premiere charity auction. Since its inception, nearly 2500 pieces of artwork have passed through Works of Heart, generating almost $600,000 for The Alliance of AIDS Services-Carolina (AAS-C). The AAS-C has partnered with the area’s most accomplished artists, recognized galleries and leading corporate citizens to raise money and awareness of HIV/AIDS. For more information about AAS-C and the Works of Heart auction, please visit www.worksofheart.org.

The auction is on Saturday, October 13, at the Progress Energy Center For The Arts in downtown Raleigh. The event starts with a free public preview from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., followed by the silent auction from 5:00 p.m. until 7:40 p.m., finishing with the live auction at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available for $20.00 at area locations or for $30.00 at the door.

“I have donated pieces of my art to the Works of Heart auction for several years, and I am exceedingly pleased to do so again this year,” replies Andron. “It is very important to me to help the Alliance of AIDS Services in their mission to provide AIDS-related programs for direct care, housing, education, prevention and faith ministries.”

Additionally, Andron’s work can be seen at the modern Mexican restaurant and tequila lounge, Jibarra, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, as well as in corporate spaces, such as SAS Institute. Anyone may browse Suzy Andron’s online gallery by visiting www.andron.com.
