October 05, 2007 - Ragsdale Liggett PLLC has announced that Jon David Hensarling has joined the firm as an associate attorney in the litigation department. In this position, Hensarling will represent clients in complex business disputes, contract and construction disputes, professional malpractice disputes, and disputes involving unfair and deceptive trade practices, personal injury and complex insurance matters. His practice will also involve advising clients regarding e-discovery issues.
Prior to joining Ragsdale Liggett PLLC, Hensarling practiced at a large Washington, D.C. firm, where he was an associate in the trial section dedicated to litigation involving securities fraud and contract claims. He has studied at Leningrad Polytechnic University in Russia and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian/Soviet Studies and History from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. in 1992. He earned his Juris Doctor in 1996 at the University of Houston Law Center in Houston and received his Master of Liberal Arts in Russian Studies in 2005 from St. Thomas University, also in Houston.
Hensarling is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the State Bar of Texas and the District of Columbia Bar. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. court of appeals for the Fourth, Fifth, and D.C. circuits, as well as the District of Columbia Circuit Court, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, and the U.S. District courts for the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. He maintains memberships in the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, the Wake County Bar Association, the 10th Judicial District Bar and DRI, the national organization of defense trial lawyers and corporate counsel. His affiliation with DRI includes involvement with the Commercial Litigation Committee, the e-discovery Committee, the Products Liability Committee and the Professional Ethics Committee.
A native of Houston, Hensarling resides in Raleigh with his wife and two sons.
