  • (1888PressRelease) June 30, 2011 - 3zbet Kheir Allah is an area ravaged by poverty. Completely destitute, its residents live in unhygienic conditions with limited access to even the most basic of necessities, resulting in many of them being undernourished and uneducated.

Managed by the Rezidor Hotel Group, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Cairo Heliopolis is part of the companywide, award winning, Responsible Business Programme. Amany George, Responsible Business Coordinator at the hotel spearheaded the campaign after she travelling to the 3zbet Kheir Allah region and meeting the families in person. Amany has worked with several families in similar circumstances over the last 10 years.
So far the regular donations have provided much needed food and medicine. During the recent political unrest in Egypt the money was used to repair the roofs and frameworks of the ram shackle shelters. The money has also meant that many of the children can now attend their local school. In addition the families receive monthly visits from the hotel's doctor, as many of the sick are bed ridden.

"The development of our social systems is based on our collective efforts to cooperate with each other in our daily lives. Radisson Blu Hotel, Cairo Heliopolis decided to support these families as we want to shape our community in a positive way.
