July 10, 2009 - Having successfully completed spring sowings, PAVA subsidiary Russian Agricultural Division (www.radcorp.ru) is now focused on crop development. The company with a mission is to unlock yield potential of Russian lands and boost grain output, sees the necessity of a considered, competent approach to agricultural technology. At present, significant efforts are centered round protection of crops and weed management.
The agribusiness envisages to introduce hang-glider herbicide treatment, and has started testing this method at the company farm in the Kamensky district, Allac Ltd. As of June 29, 5% of the overall RAD planted acreage was sprayed with herbicides using hang-gliders. Currently, RAD is carrying out performance analysis of this method in comparison with ground spraying. Given that costs are justified and efficiency increases, the company will intensify crop spraying by air means.
Russian Agricultural Division puts strong emphasis on the quality of input materials, and has supplied its farming units with fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides from leading manufacturers, expecting to enhance crop productivity.
The planted acreage of RAD farms was expanded during the current season, increasing sowings of wheat, buckwheat and sunflower, and the company’s harvest projections exceed last year’s results.
