  • Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) April 03, 2015 - Rabits & Romano Architecture, Planning and Design is part of the architectural team for a new comedy club, named simply The Comedy Club, owned in part by Brazilian talk show host and comedian, Danilo Gentili.

Rabits & Romano Architecture, Planning and Design has helped to shape the 'new face' of International Drive. The firm was part of the architectural design team for the first Banco do Brasil in Central Florida that opened in February and the I-Drive NASCAR Indoor Kart Racing attraction that opened in December. The firm also designed the new lecture hall for Florida Christian University and many new businesses including: Florida Connection, Costa Brasil, Pearl Vision, Vitamin Planet, the Wine Outlet, Gol Airlines and many other businesses on International Drive.

"The International Drive area is booming, and we are proud to play a part in helping developers, including those from Brazil, refresh and redesign this famous tourism strip,'' said partner Fulvio Romano. "The Comedy Club will bring a new dimension to International Drive and is slated to be ready before the height of the Brazilian travel season later this year.''

A native of Brazil, architect Fulvio Romano was selected by the design team to interpret the ideas for The Comedy Club from Brazil and put them into American standards. The 5400-square-foot club, located at 7052 International Drive, is being built by the JAG Group and will seat approximately 200.

Gentili wanted a place in Orlando where Brazilian tourists and locals could enjoy the type of entertainment they see back home. The new club is scheduled to open later this summer. It is strategically located north of International Drive, close to popular Brazilian tourism spots Universal Orlando Resort, Wet 'n Wild and the brand new Banco do Brasil.

The club will include Brazilian architecture and a number of Brazilian collectibles. The club's decoration will include original items belonging to Brazilian, American and English comedians. The Comedy Club's architectural ideas are headed by renowned architect Gastao Lima, who is responsible for the Hard Rock Cafe Brazil project, among others.

General Manager Carla Matravolgyi from AMT USA Corp. is in charge of the project, and the general contractor will be Jesse Hayman from the JAG Group.
