April 23, 2008 - Having successfully penetrated over one third of secondary schools in the UK, Qwizdom will now work with Midwich and its strong network of resellers to increase its reach into the key markets of primary schools and Universities.
“Government funding for ICT in primary schools totalling Ł336m* makes this latest deal a particularly attractive offering to resellers”, says Qwizdom’s Director Gary Morrison. He adds: “Qwizdom’s latest Q2 RF handset, designed specifically for primary pupils and those with special education needs, has been particularly well received by schools with a significant percentage of site visits/demonstrations leading to a sale.
“It is very much business as usual, Qwizdom will continue to sell direct to end users but the sheer size of the potential market has necessitated the opening up of a distribution channel. Qwizdom’s sales team is simply not able to adequately address the demand for sales presentations being experienced.”
Qwizdom is offering Midwich preferential margins, training and demonstration kits. Midwich will provide resellers with product demonstrations and product training. Midwich also intends to offer an accreditation scheme whereby partners who choose Qwizdom as their sole audience response market will benefit from demonstration equipment and a discounted buyer price. Resellers are urged to register their interest with their Midwich account manager to take advantage of this great opportunity.
Qwizdom’s Q5 remote is the only rechargeable solution on the market and unlike most other voting systems it can be used with or without an interactive whiteboard as it does not require board specific software. Qwizdom Actionpoint is a simple to use plug-in for Microsoft PowerPoint. Costs for a standard set of 32 handsets start from Ł1199. Morrison continues: “We can see that the acceptance of classroom voting systems into mainstream education is starting to accelerate and this will be an excellent driver for our partnership with Midwich. Our future plans include moving into European markets for which we intend to take on further resellers and distributors.”
Darren Lewitt, Divisional Director at Midwich Limited, adds: “As the UK's leading specialist distributor, we feel that it is our obligation to bring the right products to our reseller partners. We decided to sign with Qwizdom because of its superior product offering and the fact that it is a UK based manufacturer, which is ideal from a support point of view.
“We have invested in a dedicated team with external focus to ensure that resellers are properly trained on this technology. Resellers should be able to make over 20% margin from these products.
“We believe that Qwizdom’s audience response systems - along with Lumens Visual presenters - are the two hottest education solutions on the market today.”
