Quinton Steps Into The Ring For Children’s Charity

Quinton Watts is preparing for his first ever boxing match.

(1888PressRelease) May 14, 2009 - Quinton Watts is willing to suffer for his cause.

The 38-year-old from Bournemouth has taken up boxing to raise funds for Round Table Children’s Wish and is being trained by former world middleweight champion Cornelius Carr in preparation for his first fight in May.

The CRN Fight Night in The Brewery, London on May 28 will see 18 contenders battle it out. Each is put through a vigorous three month training regime.

Quinton, whose software company ESET is a major sponsor of the event, has already suffered an injured wrist and bloody nose but he’s determined.

“I’m not nervous of getting hurt – most injuries will heal easily”, he said, “I’m just determined to put up a good fight and raise plenty of money for charity.

“Round Table Children’s Wish brings a huge morale-boost to children who are suffering with life-threatening illnesses. As a father of two healthy children I am delighted to be supporting such an amazing charity.”

Round Table Children’s Wish is based in Bournemouth and grants wishes for children aged three to 17 throughout the UK with life-threatening illnesses. Recent wishes include meeting the Portsmouth FC team, a surprise visit from a much-missed friend flown in from Australia and a visit to see the magic of the Northern Lights in Sweden.

Quinton, whose fighting name on the night will be ‘Quinton the Android Watts’, is enjoying the training so much that he plans to continue boxing after the fight.
