July 14, 2007 - PORTLAND, OR — PRINT announced today the artwork to be featured in its Regional Design Annual 2007. Among the entries selected for the annual publication were a business card and a logo submitted by Quango Inc.
“I’ve always considered the designers featured in PRINT’s Regional Design Annual as the who’s-who of the design world,” explained Marc Anteparra-Naujock, Quango Art Director. “To have Quango be among those designers is exceptional.”
Quango’s business card submission was designed for Hype, a Portland club promotions company. The card features crisp text sandwiched by an embossed honeycomb pattern, representing the connection between the audience and the venue. The thick cardstock and textured pattern were designed to stand out amidst a plethora of business cards. Concurrently, the clean textual elements maintain a minimalist appearance, so as not to put the promoter’s image before the club.
Quango designed the winning logo for Thompson Transportation as a method to combine the branding of three freight service companies under the same office into one unified and recognizable logo. The result was a bold orange and gray circle with a pair of knocked-out Ts.
PRINT is a bimonthly magazine promoting visual culture and design. Covering the field of communication, PRINT explores and critiques commercial, social, and environmental design. PRINT’s Regional Design Annual is a yearly publication that provides a comprehensive design profile of the United States, showcasing the best print designs from each region.
