November 25, 2008 - Quality Life Associates, a Northwest Arkansas nonprofit serving individuals with disabilities, is developing a new website.
"We started," says director Carolyn Hoppe, "by updating the blog. There had been a blog for a few years, but it had only occasional postings. We went back and found news and photos and updated the blog to give a good picture of Quality Life Associates' activities over the past year."
The response was very positive. "People love it!" sayd Hoppe, who is completing her PhD in rehabilitation counseling. "It's like a scrapbook for the organization. We have callers saying, 'Now I get it!""
Quality Life Associates was founded by Jack and Lynne Alexander in honor of their daughter Kathy, who suffered a traumatic brain injury at the age of 17. QLA has provided a variety of supportive services for individuals with disabilities in Northwest Arkansas, and the Alexanders recently won the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce Residential Developer of the Year award for the Village at Scull Creek, an independent living community in Fayetteville.
The Quality Life Associates Blog, "Carolyn ( @ ) QualityLife," can be found at http://carolynqualitylife.blogspot.com. It is part of the new website, www.qualitylifeassociates.com, which is under development by Sharp Hue, Inc., a Fayetteville web design firm. Web engineer Shan Pesaru and content writer Rebecca Haden work extensively with nonprofit organizations.
