Psychic Exploration by Apollo 14 Astronaut and Moonwalker Edgar D. Mitchell Is Available Again

Top Quote Landmark Anthology on Psychic Research and the Meaning of the Universe. End Quote
  • (1888PressRelease) August 04, 2011 - More than thirty years after its publication in 1974, the landmark anthology Psychic Exploration, A Challenge for Science by Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar D. Mitchell and more than thirty leading scientists and thinkers, has been republished. It was in 1971 that Edgar D. Mitchell became the sixth man to walk on the moon. During that legendary voyage he made the following observations:

"The first thing that came to mind as I looked at Earth was its incredible beauty. […] Next I thought of our
planet's life-supporting character. […] Then my thoughts turned to daily life on the planet. With that, my sense of wonderment gradually turned into something close to anguish. Because I realized that …..man was totally unconscious of his individual role in-and individual responsibility for-the future of life on the planet."

-From the Introduction: From Outer Space to Inner Space, by Edgar D. Mitchell

Edgar D. Mitchell believes that the study of consciousness can help us understand how it affects our daily lives. With this in mind, he pulled together some of the greatest minds in the field to contribute to Psychic Exploration. Filled with discussions about the history of parapsychology and the world of psi, many of the issues described are even today considered too controversial to discuss scientifically: from telepathy to parapsychology, out-of-body experiences to hauntings and psychic phenomena, and much more.

After years of being out-of-print, this primer on psychic research, life's purpose, and the meaning of the universe is made available again by Cosimo Books with a new Foreword from the President and the Senior Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, Marilyn Schlitz and Dean Radin, who state:

" […] perhaps the most important change [since the initial publication of Psychic Exploration] has been due to advancements in quantum physics […] If this trend continues, then the age-old puzzle at the core of religious epiphanies, mystical insight, and creative genius will finally yield to scientific explanations: What is the true nature of consciousness?"
-From the new Foreword by Marilyn Schlitz, PhD, and Dean Radin, PhD

This book continues to prove itself as a relevant reference for those studying psychic research. It is available again for new generations of readers who want to gain insight and understand the fundamentals of the world of psi.
