April 08, 2009 - Chennai: Population Services international (PSI), has come up with a unique platform to stage your best performance. This skit competition which is based on the theme of HIV/AIDS is open to both Corporates and Individuals. This is being conducted with an objective to raise the awareness level of people towards HIV/ AIDS, so that they can contribute positively towards the cause. Based on the concept of Interactivity and open platform (For Eg., YouTube), this contest is named as “Positive Negative”.
Targeted more at the corporate sector, this is also open to general public. People can enact their own impressions either with a team or solo, from their offices or home. They are invited to script, enact and produce a play through a website with the URL: www.positivenegative.in. This is a video sharing website where people can upload their videos to the site free of cost. Out of all the entries, the best videos will be shortlisted and awarded.
The need to educate the corporate audience and eradicate the stigma attached to the disease was the criteria behind this initiative. Through this PSI wishes to indicate the different hues of HIV, and remove the negative connotation attached to it. Mr. Atul Kapoor – Project Director, PSI Connect commented, “The thought behind such a concept was to reach out to, and to encourage the web savvy corporate audience to adopt this cause. The idea was also to leverage the ever growing networking community to spread the message and receive support from them in increasing awareness about HIV/ AIDS”.
In order to generate awareness of the programme in this sector, the HR or Admin Head of 300 companies are being approached by PSI. This will be an opportunity for the corporate as well to show they care.
