July 23, 2007 - Today it is a common trend that consumers and authorities become more and more conscious about health and safety, in particular chemical safety of products. Recent additions to California Proposition 65 (Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) expanded the list of chemicals that, when used in consumer products, must be clearly marked as causing certain diseases or birth defects. For the promotional products industry it means that several types of currently popular printing inks – such as industry standard Poly-All ink for polypropylene – become illegal to use on products made in or shipped to California.
