March 08, 2006 - iampowered.com, a website dedicated to communicating ways to engage technology to enable everyday life, has just reached the milestone of 800 articles in only four months of operation. The website, that was launched in November 2005, focuses on handheld and mobile devices, wireless services, software and trends that can impact how readers live, work and play.
But, what is iampowered.com? iampowered.com came about from the realization that the Web seemed to be full of all kinds of "just the facts ma’am" information about gadgets, gear and personal technology, but was severely lacking information on how those things could be used to help users optimize their time and become more efficient. This site is dedicated to provide connections and context to help bridge the gap.
iampowered.com has a dual mission to its readers: • to be the one-stop resource for finding what really matters out there when it comes to consumer/personal technology; AND
• to be an authority in terms of how to use such tools and technologies in order to save time and be more productive
iampowered.com’s time-saving stories (news and reviews) cover a range of products and services, including smartphones, PDAs, iPods, laptops, desktops, software titles, web services and wireless offerings.
The commentary accompanying the various stories focuses on how to use the technology to help users be more efficient.
This commentary is provided by some familiar names to the technology community. Jen Edwards is the Editor-in-Chief of PocketGoddess.com, a site devoted to handheld news and reviews of all kinds. Jen is also a staff writer for Brighthand.com and a freelance author for a variety of print publications, including Laptop, Computer Power User, and CE Lifestyles. Amy Zunk, iampowered’s Chief Editor, has been a freelance writer and editor for such sites as Geek.com, GadgetMe.com, PocketAnywhere.com, PDABuzz, Newsforge and Slashdot.
iampowered.com is always looking for talented writers and contributors. Please contact us at http://www.iampowered.com/forum/sendmessage.php for more information about becoming part of the iampowered.com team.
