May 08, 2008 - Beverly Hills, CA – What is the most important thing about filmmaking? Filmmaking is supposed to be fun, says Stephen Downing of Impact Motion Pictures, a green-conscious film production company who opened their doors this Spring in Beverly Hills, CA. Downing, along with his partners consisting of entertainment industry veterans Tammy Hunt, Lindy Hudis and Stephen Hudis, have spent more than two decades navigating their way up the entertainment industry ladder, working with a variety of producers and crews, and have seen how productions go awry, usually caused by miscommunications between crews and the producer. But now they aim to change all that by “doing it right”.
“We envision Impact Motion Pictures emerging as a leading independent production company, specializing in edgy, character-driven, cost effective films that appeal to the widest audience possible, “ says Downing.
Impact’s business model is not the average, run-of-the mill “cookie cutter” product. Instead, Impact creates quality original feature films and television programs with unique ideas and stories and embraces the talents of new actors, writers and directors to tell the story, which is what filmmaking is all about. Impact views relationships as a key component to a successful production. This is why they plan to cultivate and utilize the same crews for all productions, resulting in a more comfortable working atmosphere, and conducive filmmaking experience. As part of its uniqueness, Impact plans to do everything “green” – using recyclable resources, bio-diesel generators and trucks, hybrid and alternate-fueled vehicles and solar energy, whenever and wherever possible.
The company is in process of obtaining funding for their first project. And the launch of an interactive web site is forthcoming.
