April 05, 2010 - Pro Energy Consultants, a premier energy auditing firm specializing in solving comfort, energy efficiency and indoor air quality issues in residential and light commercial buildings, announces its energy audit special for Earth Day 2010. During the week of April 19, 2010, for every residential or commercial customer who buys an energy audit, Pro Energy will donate an energy audit of equal or lesser value to a friend or family member of the homeowner.
"In celebration of Earth Day on April 22 and a more sustainable environment, the Pro Energy team hopes to raise energy awareness and further reduce our carbon footprint by donating energy audits," said Pro Energy Consultants Managing Partner Derek Sola. "Many people have no idea how much energy and money they waste each month due to insufficient insulation, leaks in the 'building envelope,' and other issues that may not be recognized without the proper assessment. Pro Energy works to provide the information customers need to begin planning energy-efficient solutions that not only reduce their utility costs and increase comfort, but also reduce waste and build toward a greener future."
According to Sola, an energy audit should always be the first step in making a residential or commercial building more energy-efficient. Pro Energy's professional consultants assess the energy efficiency of homes and buildings using advanced equipment and tools, including a blower door and thermographic images from an infrared camera. The thermographic images included in Pro Energy's audit reports can reveal insulation effectiveness, water and air leaks, and other common issues that contribute to wasted energy and higher bills.
In addition to detailed audit reports, Pro Energy consultants discuss the results with customers, helping them identify the problem areas, and recommending a list of prioritized improvements necessary to make the building more energy-efficient. With the recent Federal Stimulus Tax Credit, homeowners qualify for a 30 percent tax credit on energy-efficient home improvements, further encouraging American homeowners to make greener living choices that help save money and the environment.
"At Pro Energy, we understand that every little bit counts," said Sola. "Even simple improvements - from sealing ductwork to adding insulation to switching to more energy-efficient light bulbs - can have a hugely positive effect on the environment and can cut energy costs significantly. With every consumer that becomes aware of the energy use in their home or building, that's one more step toward a healthier environment, and we're committed to moving forward every day."
