May 09, 2007 - Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar may not be getting his yoga postures exactly right and could be risking his back that has caused him problems earlier in his career, a report appearing in a news channel, which pointed out that Sachin was performing the yoga rrectly and it will be very harmful for him. Delhi Based Yoga Guru Suneel Singh was shown television footage of the yoga in was doing.
According to Yoga Guru Suneel Singh, the ‘asanas’ that the cricketer was attempting the Purnotitli( full butterfly), Paschimottan (forward bending), Monibandha chakra (wrist rotating) Monibandha naman (wrist bending) and Mustikabandha (fist-clenching) asanas but was not getting them quiet right.
Especially the Paschimottan asana is not advisable to Sachin, as he is suffering from back pain. And one should not force the practitioner to do difficult asanas as the flexibility of the body varies from person to person.
Yoga guru Suneel Singh advised and also performed some asanas like Subtle Kriyaswhich are known as sookshma kriyas and Shalvasana which is popularly known as Locust Posture on that particular news channel which are very much beneficial for Sachin.
After the Yoga Session Sachin said, ‘I would recommend Yoga to every one’ and he is extending his sessions beyond the required time.
