May 16, 2007 - Two superstars recognized by their peers for outstanding design.
Critiqued by forty iStock Inspectors around the world, iStockphoto’s Design Spotlight awards Pressure* designer, Vas Goulopoulos, for his art piece named “Chaotic Hollywood”. The high octane, explosive piece isn’t a stranger to winning competitions. The TELUS World Ski & Snowboard festival held a Poster Design Duke Out Competition where it made it’s debut. Not known to shy away from creative competitions, Pressure’s CEO and creative director, Barron Lau, jumped at the opportunity and chose Goulopoulos to manage the project. The winning design would be the first souvenir poster available for purchase during the Festival. “Chaotic Hollywood” was chosen as the winning limited edition poster. 500 copies were printed with vegetable dyes, on recycled paper, with all proceeds from the sale donated to WAG and Zero Ceiling.
Meanwhile Goulopoulos’ teammate was busy generating an astounding, average of 1000 clicks a day from his own award winning piece.
Pressure*designer Drew Williams’ “Global Sin” wallpaper was showcased on the main page of iStockphoto, as Design Spotlight of the Week for the first week of May. As a thought provoking piece of artwork, Williams’s uses world landmarks, including Toronto’s CN Tower, to visually destroy.
Intended as a Pressure* promotional piece, the concept behind Global Sin is to depict a self-absorbed society that will imminently bring the world to ruin. Details of his inspiration and design process can be found on www.pressure.org.
